Leading Edge Protection & Coatings

To protect and repair the leading edges of blades, we carry both liquid urethane pastes and adhesive cast polyurethane tapes – ideal for combatting erosion. To complete the surface finish, we carry urethane coatings based on epoxy resin, made of two components mixed together before use. Used as both primer and topcoat, it comes in RAL 7035 – the light grey of all wind turbine blades. We also carry more economical polyester gelcoats.We also carry more economical polyester gelcoats, making them suitable for various repair needs in wind turbine blade maintenance.

Fabrics – Tailored for Wind Turbine Blade Repairs

Not all fabrics are created equal—especially in wind turbine blade repair. We stock a wide variety of fiberglass and carbon fiber available by the yard, roll, or even pallet, ensuring you get exactly what you need for the task at hand. Our in-stock fabric selection includes materials for every job:

• unidirectional fabrics when you need strength along the length of the blade
• 0/90 stacked materials that will provide strength both along the length and width of the blade – and withstand some bending and twisting.
• Biaxial and Triaxial fabrics that will provide strength both along the length and width of the blade – and can withstand significant bending and twisting.

Core Materials

To help build internal structure rigidity, we have a variety of balsa and foam core materials. Our balsa sheets are scored in blocks allowing you to bend and shape the wood as needed. Our cellular foam sheets are either scored in blocks or punched with holes allowing you to bend and shape the foam as needed. Both are ideal for use between layers of fabric to provide stiffness.

Resins & Hardening Agents

To help fiberglass, carbon fiber, and core materials harden when layed up – we have a large variety of resins and hardening agents. Epoxy resins have excellent mechanical, thermal, and chemical strength and resistance when cured – ideal for blade repair. Polyester resins generally have a shorter working time than epoxy – but are more economical.

Adhesives & Bonding Putty

To bond surfaces together, we carry a variety of adhesives – including urethane and portable epoxy foil kits that create perfect mix ratios every time. To repair surfaces, we carry flexible and tough two part epoxy fillers – ideal for repairing and smoothing wind blade surfaces.

Process Materials

To repair your and cure wind turbine blades, we carry a wide variety of:

• Vacuum Bagging Supplies – peel ply, vacuum bag films, release films, tacky tape, and flash tapes
• Tools – sanders, grinders, drills, chisels, durometers, scales, brushes, squeegies, and heat blankets
