DD Repair Kit
This kit makes Hand layups bullet proof. After lamination resin brake film is placed over the laminate which substitutes perforated release and breather. Some other little features make this kit ideal for quality-controlled repairs where no infusion will be used. But this kit brings the advantage of the DD Compound product line to the Hand Layup World. Full vacuum can be directly applied after lamination without the risk of increasing the void content or dry laminate. The kit comes in 2 sizes (5m and 10m) and is designed to be used with the Westlake Repair-set 635 Cartridges the ideal combination for quick clean hand laminations without any compromise in quality while reducing layup time by over 50%. Lightweight, heat-resistant, and compact, the DD Repair Kit is ideal for field work or small-shop environments. It’s used by professionals across industries where fast, structural-level repairs are a daily necessity.
This can be controlled by the applied vacuum after infusion with no dry spots, equal fiber volume ratio, easy handling can be customized, void free laminate and process stability.This kit makes Hand layups bullet proof. Advantages for Hand Lamination Process
- relatively low production start-up cost compared to RTM technology (but higher than commencing hand lay-up production)
- the method is cost-effective for medium-volume orders,

What’s Inside the DD Repair Kit?
- 2,5 m² peel ply: Peel Ply is a synthetic cloth that you drape over your epoxied surface as the epoxy sets up. Once cured, you can peel off the fabric, and what’s left behind is a perfectly smooth surface that’s ready for a quick sanding, or for the next round of epoxy. No runs, no sags, no low spots.
- 2,25 m Resin-Brake-Film: Resin Brake Film acts as a release layer, preventing resin from sticking to the laminate while allowing proper compaction. The Resin-Brake-Film is used over the whole surface of the part. The air is evacuated through the film. The resin is slowed down by the film so the airflow on top of the membrane is kept open until the fibers are saturated under the film. The resin can travel through the film after infusion to create a homogeneous laminate and evacuate excess resin. This can be controlled by the applied vacuum after infusion.
- 5m vacuum tube 6/8 + 2 T-Pieces: essential components for connecting the vacuum pump to the bagging system for consistent vacuum pressure.
- 4m² bagging film: Bagging Film creates an airtight environment during the vacuum bagging process to optimize resin compaction and curing.
- 1 reel a’ 15m sealant tape: Used to seal the edges and joints of the vacuum bag, ensuring no air leaks during the vacuum process.
- 8m spiral hose with non-woven: Ensures effective resin infusion and air evacuation, promoting smooth and even resin flow.
